Interview with Tacboy
What first got you into music?
I feel like my mom has been blasting music since I was a kid. I remember being dropped off to school with bands like linkin park and system of a down playing loudly in the background. Hahaah i guess that inspired me to start playing guitar at 7.
How would you describe your music?
Tough one you really just gotta listen to maybe like 3 or 4 of our tunes and youll get it. We incorporate so much of individual styles that it creates something so special. Its pure ET. ET Style.
How do you handle the pressures of performance, and have your strategies evolved over time?
Actually i have always been a nervous wreck and am still working on that today. Nowadays i focus on that sweet sweet release you feel when conquering something that scares you. Its a part of being a boy but often the win is worth the struggle.
Have you got a ritual of sorts when writing and thinking about your music?
Alcohol. I like beers but also i will just throw back shots of vodka until I feel present in the moment. Since i kid ive found it hard to leave my mind and even get stuck in thought loops about shit that does not benefit me. I find getting wasted helps me lose that sense of myself. I hate it but my girl just says thats part of being a pisces.
Which famous musicians do you admire?
JIm Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and Thaiboy Digital
What is your top two favourite songs of all time? Why those songs?
In The Garage by Weezer and probably Going Away to College by Blink 182. Idk i think the first encapsulates the feeling of being a loser but somehow makes it sound so cool. The second song is just something i loved as a kid and still do.
If we were to look at the artists you are listening to, who would be on your playlist?
I think right now its a bunch of europop and trance. So stuff like Basshunter, Vengaboys, and Chicane. Ohh ive also been listening to rap like Chief Keef, old Drake songs, and JayDaYoungan.
What do you think of garden gnomes?
Bro I dont think ive ever thought about garden gnomes like that haha. They are tacky i guess.
Are you a cat or dog person?
Both. We’ve always had all types of animals when I was growing up. I have two turtles that are 20 and one is huge.
What would be the ideal food to have cooked for you on a date night?
Anything but shrimp scampi. Bump shrimp scampi.
Plane crash question?
Depends on where we crash if my only source of water is salt water id be ruined. boiling water every day would make me lose it. but dang i guess you’d have to do that for fresh water anyway in case of bacteria. so yea i’d probably enjoy nature for one day then try to meet my maker.
If you were talking to a younger version of you, what advice would you give yourself?
You’ll feel better soon everything will pass. Like what you want to like the world has enough followers as it is.
