Today’s athletes continue to take even better care of their bodies compared to those in the past. This means some athletes are trying new things like yoga, and one sport where it’s proving to be incredibly beneficial is lacrosse. Improving the off-hand is just one area to focus on during the off-season. Learn more about why lacrosse players should try yoga through the following reasons.

Helps With Recovery

Games and practices can take a lot out of players, but the first reason many lacrosse players take up yoga is that it can lead to a faster recovery. This comes from the added flexibility they achieve through various movements. A faster recovery means a quicker turnaround to playing optimally in a short amount of time. It also reduces the risk of injury in the process.

Build Strength

Lacrosse players also spend lots of time in the weight room to build strength, but that’s not the only way players can get the upper edge on the competition. Yoga is also an excellent way to get stronger and work your muscles in ways you might not have before with the different poses you can try.

Controlled Breathing

Breathing is a huge part of yoga. Learning how to control it pays off when you’re running around on the lacrosse field as well. Being able to breathe will not only help with endurance, but it’ll also keep players calm in a close game or another stressful situation.

Increased Focus
