Evalyn has been turning her personal problems into pop music for more than ten years. The artist from Los Angeles, whose music has been streamed over 130 million times on Spotify, is back with her biggest project yet: A Quiet Life, an album that uses the idea of becoming a mother to show how modern consciousness is falling apart.

Evalyn first drew people in with her vocals on Louis the Child’s hit song “Fire,” which is known for encapsulating raw emotional intensity in catchy melodies. Since then, she has become a sought-after collaborator and a strong solo performer. Her 2018 psychedelic pop album, Salvation, gained a loyal fan base and dealt with themes of self-rescue that would become her artistic trademark. The album’s 2024 vinyl re-release, which included additional songs, showed that she still connects with those who want more than just club music.

A Quiet Life goes even deeper into the realm of ideas, using the dissonant sounds of Aphex Twin, ARCA, and Grimes as influence for its production. The 13-track compilation was mostly written and recorded during her first pregnancy. It reflects the physical and mental chaos of change—the nausea of fear, the clamor of ceaseless scrolling, and the dizziness of losing yourself while making a new life. It’s her most emotional work yet, made with some of Los Angeles’ most creative producers to create a sound story of awareness, stress, and letting go.

Evalyn can perform on any level, from small clubs to the main stage at a festival. She has played at Coachella’s Sahara tent alongside Jai Wolf, The Greek Theater, SXSW, and CRSSD, where she wowed fans. Dillon Francis, San Holo, Tritonal, It’s Murph, and RAC are just a few of the electronic music stars who have worked with her. They all know how to bring people into the digital world.

Evalyn continues to blur the borders between mainstream accessibility and creative ambition. Her work is featured on HBO and Spotify’s most popular playlists (New Work Friday, Young & Free, and Metropolis), and major publications like Billboard, Paper, and Nylon promote her. A Quiet Life is her most courageous work, asking listeners to make sense of the destruction on their own. As usual, she doesn’t give any easy answers; she just says it’s okay to feel everything, loudly.
