Here’s How You Can Fight Your Receding Hairline

Most men experience some degree of balding in their early 30s. Then there are those who start even younger, with some men reporting hair loss as early as 25 or 26. Whenever their hair loss begins, it is estimated that two-thirds of men suffer from noticeable male pattern baldness by the age of 60. So what should you do when you start to experience hair loss? How can you reverse – or, at the very least, slow – your receding hairline? There are a lot of methods out there, although they vary in effectiveness and reliability. We’ll be examining some of the most popular in this article. Here are a few ways you can combat your receding hairline.

    Ketoconazole Shampoo

Go to any supermarket and you’ll find its shelves lined with shampoos promising to combat the effects of balding. Most people assume that these shampoos are simply too good to be true. To be honest with you, the vast majority of them are. However, there are a select few which will genuinely stimulate your scalp and promote hair growth. The key ingredient in these effective shampoos is ketoconazole. Ketoconazole is actually an antifungal medication. This means that as well as rejuvenating your follicles, it can be relied upon to eradicate dandruff, athlete’s foot, and even ringworm. For a more in-depth look at ketoconazole shampoo and how it can help you in your battle against male pattern baldness, have a read of this article from our friends at Healthline.

    Scalp Massage

It is believed that by increasing the blood circulation around your scalp, you can stimulate hair growth and return your hairline to its former glory. Most in the know recommend a four-minute head massage once a day. Anything less than this is unlikely to produce the desired results. However, it is worth noting that going overboard may damage your scalp and actually accelerate your hair loss.

    Healthy Diet

So much of our body’s performance is influenced by what we put into it. That’s why those who are hoping to slow the recession of their hairlines should try to eat a diet that is high in antioxidants. Without an adequate supply of antioxidants, your hair will fall victim to oxidative stress, which can cause greying and balding even in young people. Thankfully, antioxidants are pretty easy to incorporate into your diet. All you have to do is up your intake of spinach, kidney beans, and walnuts and you can expect your hairline to stay put.

    Hair Transplant

While the above methods can certainly be effective in slowing a receding hairline, the only surefire means of combating male pattern baldness is a hair transplant. There are multiple procedures under the hair transplant umbrella for you to consider. The most popular of these is follicular unit extraction (FUE). You may also want to consider follicular unit transplantation (FUT) or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment. If you aren’t in a position to pay for a hair transplant in the Western world, we urge you to consider traveling to Turkey. Over the past couple of years, Turkey has become famous for its affordable hair restoration procedures. Even FUE, which can cost in excess of $20,000 in the United States, is unlikely to set you back more than $10,000 in Turkey. But despite their low prices, Turkish hair restoration clinics boast some of the most experienced surgeons in the game. Their expert hands will restore your hairline to pristine condition, while their many years of knowledge will help guide you towards a routine that ensures your hairline never strays again.
