Halton Hart: Rising Stars with New Single ‘Little Boots’

This is Halton Hart, a very rare and unique musical family of 8 girls, where music plays a massive role in your lives.

You meet Halton Hart: Caitlyn 17, Marissa 16, and Erica Byars 10; Jaelyn 10 and Meila Scully 12; Taegan 10 and Hazel Evans 7; and Georgia Martin 11.

You learn all the girls have been taught music by Gore-based recording artist Kayla Mahon, with all starting at the young age of 2, up on the stage, singing in country music competitions.

You hear that Halton Hart’s new single “Little Boots” is all about pursuing big dreams to become big country stars!

You learn “Little Boots” (Big Dreams) won Georgia Martin and Meila Scully the 2025 MLT NZ Junior Duo Gold Guitar Award. Meila also won the Junior Country Rock Award and was the 2025 MLT NZ Junior Overall Runner Up.

You see the girls perform the song with sass, energy, and love. Every time they perform the song, the crowd responds enthusiastically. There are smiles and energy everywhere.

You know Georgia and Meila co-wrote “Little Boots” with Kayla Mahon (Mum/Aunty Kayla) and songwriter Andrea Cruickshank. Andrea is originally from Gore and also grew up in the Gore Country Music Club Family.

Interview with Georgia

What first got you into music?

My family, especially my mum. 

Who inspired you to make music?

My Mum

What is your favorite song to perform?

Little Boots with Meila.

Which famous musicians do you admire?

Lainey WIlson and Kaylee Bell

What is the best advice you have been given?

Follow your dream; they know the want. Have fun. 

What do you enjoy most about being an artist?

Performing on stage and meeting new people.

Where was your last song recorded?

Invercargill. Music South with Aaron Ives. 

If you could be a superhero, what would your superpower be and what would your superhero name be?

Teleportation, so I can travel to countries around the world, like Nashville, Tennessee. 

What was the last thing you dressed up as for fancy dress?

Pink day at school—for anti-bullying

You are a new addition to a crayon box. What color would you be, and why?

A mixture of blue and green because I love nature and water. 

Which are cooler? Dinosaurs or Dragons?

Dragons—they can fly and breathe fire—to roast marshmallows. 

What is your favorite board game?

Deal or no deal—it’s fun to find out how much money you get. and I like the card game Piles. 

What’s your favorite children’s story?

The Twits 


Interview with Meilas

Who inspired you to make music?

My Aunty Kayla, Lainey Wilson, and my Great Grandad Mait. 

What do you enjoy most about being an artist?

It makes me who I am, and it makes me happy. 

If you could go open a show for any artist, who would it be?

I would open for Kaylee or Bell or Lainey Wilson because I am one of their biggest fans. 

What is one message you would give to your fans?

I would say thank you so much for supporting me and my music. And if anyone is chasing their dreams like me, I just would like to say never give up because you will get there someday. 

What would you be doing right now if it weren’t for your music career?

If I didn’t have a music career, I honestly don’t know what I would be doing; I don’t think I can live without it. 

What is your favorite song to perform?

My favourite song to perform are my own songs To HEAVEN  and LITTLE BOOTS BIG DREAMS.

Which famous musicians do you admire?

I admire a lot of musicians but the 2 that I admire the most are Lainey Wilson and Kaylee Bell. 

What is the best advice you have been given?

The best advice I have ever been told to me is to never give up and chase your dreams.

Who are your top two favorite artists of all time? What makes those artists so special to you?

Lainey Wilson and Kaylee Bell. I love Lainey Wilson. Her voice is amazing, her performance is awesome, and her outfits are the best! Kaylee Bell because her voice is amazing and her style is so cool as well. 

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

I am going to try the recording studio and record my own song To HEAVEN and Georgia and I are putting on a Talent Quest. 

If you could be a superhero, what would your superpower be and your superhero name?

I would be able to travel real fast and help people in danger. 

If you had to describe yourself as a flavour, what would it be?

I’d say tropical because I wear tropical smelling perfume. 

Which are cooler? Dinosaurs or Dragons?

I think I would prefer dragons because they are way cooler and they can fly everywhere. 

What is your favorite board game?

My favourite game is Piles, it is so much fun and a really cool game to play with family and friends. 

What’s your favourite children’s story?

Three Little Pigs
