Imagine yourself on a beautiful beach, sunbathing, and sipping your favorite drink. But what if you are from a country where beaches are not as stunning as those from tropical countries?
Worry not! We have compiled a list of the top beaches from each of the 7 continents.
Join me as I embark on a quest for the most beautiful beaches from each continent!
Americas
North America
Hulopo’e Beach, located on the island of Lana’i, is considered the most beautiful beach in Hawaii and one of the world’s most perfect long beaches. Its long stretch of sand, lush green surroundings, and peaceful island vibe make it stand out from the rest.
The beach has a marine reserve filled with colorful fish and the occasional spinner dolphin. The area is notable for having the finest snorkeling and diving spots in Hawaii. Swimming in the 70-degree water makes it all the more appealing.
Some of the loveliest beaches in North America are Clearwater Beach in Florida, Tulum Beach in Mexico, and Playa Azul in Costa Rica.
Here are some other amazing beaches on the Virgin Islands.
South America
Copacabana Beach in Brazil is often referred to as the world’s most famous beach and is renowned for its two-and-a-half-mile stretch of white sand. It is located in a densely populated residential area of Rio de Janeiro.
Large granite slabs surround the entrance to the bay and the area. A short walk will take you to a strip of the best shopping centers in Rio, as well as many movie and play theaters, fashion and jewelry shops, and restaurants and nightclubs.
Another gorgeous beach in Rio is Ipanema Beach. Some notable mentions are Punta Tombo in Argentina and Tayrona in Colombia.
Antarctica
Deception Island is one of the few beach travel destinations in Antarctica. The island has a relaxing steam bath due to the fact that it is actually a partly submerged volcano. Situated in the South Shetland Islands at the northern Antarctic Peninsula, volcanic activity formed Deception Island.
Explore the many other hot springs on the island or take a dip in the thermal waters of Pendulum Cove. You can also watch the penguins on the beach or swim with them.
Some beaches you can visit in Antarctica are McDonald Beach in Ross Island and Neko Harbor.
Africa
Clifton Beach is found at the northwest tip of South Africa’s Cape Peninsula. Clifton is actually a series of four beaches, each separated by a stretch of granite walls. The beach is clean and has the best view of the striking African sunrise that illuminates its white sand.
A different vibe is felt at Clifton, owing in part to the mystique of Table Mountain, which emerges gorgeously in the beach’s background, and in part to the glamorous pulse of the surrounding neighborhood.
Some must-visit beaches in Africa are Grotto Beach and Camps Bay Beach in the Western Cape, Humewood Beach in the Eastern Cape, Doctor’s Cave Beach and Seven Mile Beach in Jamaica, and Ramsgate and Marina Beach in KwaZulu-Natal.
Europe
Navagio Beach on Zakynthos Island is considered one of the most stunning sites in Greece. Famously called “Shipwreck Beach” or “Smuggler’s Cove,” the main attraction is the hulking, weathered hull of a freighter that ran aground in the early ’80s, believed to be carrying contraband.
The ship now sits in the middle of a crescent beach, a few yards away from the tideline where bone-white sand meets the bright blue Ionian Sea. The area can only be accessed by boat because of the towering cliffs surrounding it.
Top beaches in Europe also include Zlatni Rat in Brač, Croatia, and Cala Macarella in Menorca, Spain.
Australia
Whitehaven Beach is an unspoiled, renowned beach on Whitsunday Island, the largest of the 74 islands in the Whitsundays. Whitehaven Beach stretches over seven kilometers of pure white sand, which is one of the finest in the world.
Swim into the pristine water and sink your feet into the sand as you relax under the sun, and you will soon realize why it’s a top destination among local and foreign tourists. Whitehaven has been voted the world’s top eco-friendly beach and Queensland’s cleanest beach.
Turquoise Bay in Exmouth and Cable Beach in Broome are among the top beaches in Australia that you should visit.
Asia
Bacuit Archipelago is home to the most beautiful beaches in Palawan, an archipelagic province in the Philippines. Palawan has been voted twice as the best island in the world and is world-famous for its paradise-like beaches situated in virgin islets.
Bacuit Archipelago is a short distance away from El Nido, the main jump-off point to the 45 enchanting islands riddled with karst cliffs, limestone formations, and gorgeous lagoons. You can reach this island paradise through a motorized boat.
Some of Asia’s best beaches are Phi Phi Island in Thailand and Soneva Gili in the Maldives.
