There are songs, and then there are offerings. Those rare pieces of music that feel like a deeply personal moment someone has chosen to share with you.

“Living in Between,” the new single from rising alt pop storyteller Daniele Odasso belongs entirely to this category.

At first listen, the track feels like a dream you half-remember. With floating vocals, shimmering production and a quiet emotional pull that’s impossible to ignore.

But behind its airy elegance lies a story shaped by transformation, loss, return and the rediscovery of a voice that almost slipped away.

The journey starts in Tuscany a, place woven into the artist’s history since childhood and the unexpected backdrop for their artistic rebirth. The recording took place at the Pellicano Laboratorio Musicale with Piero Pellicano, whose multi-instrumental wizardry and sensitivity as an engineer helped carve out the song’s soft, luminous world.

It’s a studio connection made possible by the late Michael Baker, the legendary drummer who once guided Whitney Houston’s live sound and, in a way, helped guide this song into existence too.

But the emotional architecture of “Living in Between” belongs equally to producer @amira.wav, whose modern, intuitive sonic palette wraps the track in something both ethereal and grounding.

Her production here doesn’t just frame the vocals. It holds them, encourages them and lifts them toward the surface. “She gave me a universe to breathe in,” Daniele reflects. “In her sound, I found parts of myself I’d forgotten.”

The vocals themselves shimmer with that rediscovery: layered, searching, intimate and defiantly honest. They move through the track like a confession whispered into open air.

Guitarist @sdbmusic adds a warm, human counterpoint – his lines gentle but purposeful like someone reaching for your hand just when you need it.

Visually, the single is just as striking. The cover art and upcoming music video take inspiration from the Tuscan coastline, where Daniele spent his earliest summers and returned during a pivotal moment of healing. Sun-drenched light, water, movement memory – the imagery mirrors the emotional world of the song. It’s a place where grief and hope coexist, where stillness becomes strength and where beauty waits patiently beneath the surface.

And at the heart of it all is a simple truth: “Living in Between” is a song about surviving the spaces we don’t talk about – the transitions, the quiet heartbreaks, the invisible thresholds where we slowly learn who we are again.

It’s a rare kind of single. It is elegant and with a lot of true emotion. The kind of song that arrives softly but makes a memorable mark, echoing with the listener.

With a full EP on the horizon, “Living in Between” feels like the quiet opening chapter of a larger story, one that promises beauty, honesty and the continued development of an artist unafraid to illuminate the tender spaces we all carry.

I fell in love with music when I first picked up a guitar at age 8. When I played, my friends and family would smile and spill with joy over the music I played, even though it was never Grammy quality. While my music career never made it past high school, my love for music never waivered. I loved the feeling of bringing a smile to someone's face through music and wanted to keep that passion going. So, I took it upon myself to continue to support and promote artists by writing about their music. This way, I can support my personal passion for music and bring entertain and joy to others through music.  Outside my love for music, I do enjoy a good hike and being in the outdoors. My favorite place that I've hiked is in Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. I love to travel too. I've been to Costa Rica, Vancouver, BC, and England, but the best place by far is Germany on Oktoberfest. I liken that experience to being in New Orleans on Mardi Gras. I like a good book now and then, but I'm more of a streaming fiend. I live for crime docuseries on Netflix, veterinary shows on National Geographic, and re-watching Scrubs on Hulu.
