Traveling is a pleasure—as long as you do it right. Sometimes, boarding a plane can turn what should’ve been a relaxing experience into a stressful time. Fortunately, there are countless ways for you to improve your flying experience. These are simple things that will transform an average flight into a five-star experience. Check them out below!

    1. Wear Proper Clothes

One of the best tips for making traveling by plane more comfortable is wearing the right clothes. Even if you’re on a business trip, you can wait to put up a suit until after you land.

Think about it; you’re going to sit down, perhaps take a bathroom break or two, and do nothing but fidget with your legs for hours.

You don’t want that to happen while wearing uncomfortable shoes or one too many layers of clothes!

Bring comfortable clothes to the plane. Then, dress accordingly for your meetings later.

    2. Ensure You’re Ready for Cold Weather

Plenty of people feel comfortable wearing shorts and a t-shirt—and that’s great! It may not be enough for a plane ride, though.

If this is your first time traveling by plane, you should know that the temperature will drop once the plane flies high. You need to be ready for that.

There are two ways you can approach this. You can bring a small blanket or a jacket. You can also go for both if you really hate cold temperatures.

    3. Bring Something Simple To Eat

Besides clothes, you should keep food in mind before you leave home. Depending on how long your flight is, you may get something to eat. But even if you do, it may not be enough.

If you’re flying in a private jet, odds are you won’t have to bring anything because they’ll provide everything you need and personalize it to your preferences. This is a possible benefit of flying private vs. first class. On any other occasion, it may be better to bring a snack or two, just in case.

Keep it simple! There’s no need to bring a big pot of food aboard. A small sandwich will do.

    4. Trust the Neck Pillow and Eye Mask

Are you about to embark on a red-eye flight? If so, you need to get a neck pillow and an eye mask.

Sure, everything will be close to pitch dark after takeoff. But there are plenty of working lights on a plane.

These two items will ensure you wake up feeling fresh and rested after a long flight. It’s among the top tips for making traveling by plane more comfortable.

The neck pillow is a complete gamechanger. So don’t knock it until you try it!

    5. Have Quality Headphones for a Quality Flight

Many people can’t sleep when they’re flying. That’s okay! There’s plenty of stuff to do on a plane.

You can listen to music, watch a movie, or listen to an audiobook, as long as you have quality headphones. If you don’t, though, your ears will start to hurt in no time.

Bring the best headphones you own to the plane, and you’ll feel how time flies until you land.

    Pass it on
