– I want my music to ground the listener in the moment. For all other problems and worries to drift away for just a couple minutes. When the deep bass and catchy vocals kick in, there’s no choice but to grab someone you love and just dance it out.
You’ve described the song as living in the space between vulnerability and power. How do you personally balance those two emotions when you’re performing such an up-tempo, “thumping” track?
– It’s all in the emotions behind the performance and vulnerability of the lyrics and message. While the music might exude one thing, my energy speaks volumes. It keeps the song honest and real!
You wrote “Breathless” solo. When you sat down to write this, did the lyrics come first, or were you already hearing those House-inspired beats in your head?
I was sitting under the palm trees and hot sun in Miami, taking in the beautiful sights. It just came to me instantly. I wrote the song in about 10 minutes. First a couple lines, and the catchy melody and house beats started to unfold. I went to sing through the song with a mentor of mine, Stephen Gleason, at the University of Miami, and I knew immediately that this song was special. I got connected with my incomparable producer-trio, and the song easily unfolded from there! –
You worked with David Mason, Harry Nelnick, and Maxim Laskavy on production. How did they help translate your “sultry and seductive” vocal vision into a dance-floor anthem?
Collaboration and communication! Musicians speak their own language. We talk in feelings, metaphors, and references. A Madison Beer vibe with a Chris Lake inspired sultry beat was the goal. They took my ideas and comments with grace, and after a couple phone calls back and forth, we had a track!

I spent so much time performing live, writing consistently, and figuring out who I truly wanted to be as an artist, and through that I really discovered my inner pop star. It gave me the space to build the vision for this new era of Alivia Clark. One that feels more confident, intentional, and fully authentic to me and the message I want to spread.

This era feels like passion, power, and pulse. Stepping into my confidence, femininity, and embracing every intense emotion that comes with it.”

It gave me a strong sense of discipline, but also a deep focus on storytelling and emotion in every performance. So even with a song like “Breathless,” which is more feminine and modern, I still treat it with that same level of intention.

I speak from the heart! Even if a song isn’t about one particular person, I always pull from moments in my life. I want my audience to be able to relate to me so they feel less alone. In the joy, in the pain, and in the right now!

100%. Acting has definitely helped me tap into different sides of myself when I’m recording music. Being able to step into a character or emotion so naturally lets me fully lean into the sensual, expressive side of my femininity when I’m in the booth. I think that’s part of what makes songs like “Breathless” feel so cinematic and emotionally immersive. I’m not just singing the song, I’m fully living in it.
You’ve opened for icons like Mariah Carey. What is the biggest lesson you learned from being around performers of that caliber that you applied to your own “return” to the industry?
True star power comes from confidence, presence, and fully owning who you are as an artist. Watching performers at that level made me realize how important it is to step into your vision fearlessly
