The Heart Behind the Song

“Burn To Black” was born from a single, vulnerable question: “Will I ever be able to effortlessly love again?” Written alongside Jon Nite and Danielle Blakey, the track dives deep into the residual ache of a first love—the kind that doesn’t just end but leaves a permanent mark.

“This isn’t your typical breakup song,” Brooke explains. “It’s not about missing someone or finding someone new. I wrote this from a place of total confusion while re-entering the dating world. It’s about navigating those old memories and boundaries while trying to find yourself again.”

The lyrics paint a vivid, cinematic picture of youth and intensity:

“We drank your daddy’s whiskey / I swam in my mama’s dress / So good that it almost killed me…” It’s a reflection on the type of fire that burns so bright, it eventually burns to black.


From Charlotte to Center Stage

Brooke’s journey began in Charlotte, North Carolina. At thirteen, she watched a band command a room and realized she wanted that same connection with an audience.
