There is something so trendy about the right eyewear. Indeed, it is the perfect complement to completing your ensemble. Sunglasses are pretty common in summer due to the sunny days. But don’t miss out on the fall and winter trends as well. And you can expect some pretty eye-catching designs.

If you want to know how popular sunglasses are, look at the global market share. As of 2021, it was worth $157.9 billion. The CAGR to the end of 2030 is 8.4%. The optimistic figures are due to changing lifestyle patterns.

People, especially millennials, are increasingly buying luxury accessories. That has elicited a response amongst eyewear makers. They are churning out more affordable and attractive eyewear. You will also realize that they are responding to fashion trends to attract fashion lovers.

So, what are some of the eyewear trends to watch out for this fall and winter?

The Sporty Biker Shades Are In

The sporty biker shades will be a major trend this fall and winter. Indeed, it is also a favorite amongst top celebrities. A way to describe this type of eyewear is futuristic and so cool.

The reflective surface makes it feel like a trend that belongs to future years. And don’t worry if you need prescription glasses, these sporty biker shades now come with vision-correcting features. Check out the Oakley prescription sunglasses for some exciting designs.

The custom prescription Oakley eyewear allows for progressive or single-vision lenses. That means you can remain stylish without compromising your vision.

One eyewear trend that keeps coming back is oversized sunglasses. Indeed, they are the ultimate expression of someone bold and not afraid to have a presence. Things are getting interesting with the frames.

Fall and winter will be all about statement frames. We are talking about thick ones, angular shapes, and bold colors.

Go back to the 70s to get an idea about what we are talking about. The retro style is back like it never left. Eyewear makers like Oakley sunglasses have some pretty affordable options. You can always stock up on a few pairs to keep switching your look.

    Splashes of Vibrant Colors

Chase away the dreary fall or winter cold with colorful eyewear. You will find a lot of summer colors in the eyewear. Color-tinted lenses are playful and bring in some warmth. And with the oversized eyewear trend, it gives it a unique look.

Another trend to watch out for is jewel-toned hues. Remember, fall and winter will be all about being bold. These exciting hues bring vibrancy due to the color choices. There will be exciting pairings with rich colors like purple, yellow and blue dominating. Indeed, this is a fantastic way to express your personality while brightening dull days.

Another hot color you can expect is olive green. It is pretty subtle while bringing in an earthy hue. It will be a fantastic compliment to any outfit you wear.

If you want a calming color, opt for soft pastels. The colors bring a touch of whimsical and romantic. But beyond that, they are easy to complement with any look. If you want to look retro chic, choose an interesting shape. Square, pale pink glasses are girly and very stylish.

Of course, with color, we can’t forget classic black. These look great with any outfit choice. Make things more interesting by going for bold shapes. The futuristic or bold frames are ideal for a weekend outing. For office wear, opt for the more conservative shapes.

    Patterns and Details

Color is not the only thing to look out for, though. Patterns are also going to be huge in fall and winter. It is all about floral prints, snakeskin, and other exciting designs.

There is also keen attention to detail. Look out for some pretty unique and intricate additions to the eyewear. These include engraving, embellishments, and brand detailing. Also, there is a lot of creativity in the material choice.

The frame finish will feature wood, crystal, and marble detailing. Indeed, with custom options like Oakley sunglasses, you can add whichever on-trend finish you want. These seemingly tiny extras will add that extra appeal to the fall and winter eyewear.

When talking about material, metal frames are back. A lot of the old trends are demanding attention this fall. The thin metallic frames are light and comfortable. They can also be pretty unobtrusive if you prefer a more subdued look.

Metal frames are also great for the industrial minimalist look. The style is understated and timeless. Yet, it is pretty versatile and noticeable. For that extra style, go for large, thin metal frames and clear or lightly tinted lenses.

    A Mishmash of Interesting Shapes

If you are not into bold statement frames, don’t worry. There are tons of other eyewear shapes to choose from. Some of the trends you can expect include the following:

    • Rimless shield glasses were quite popular in the 2000s. That was when there was a Y2K craze making the rounds. Expect to see plenty of that in fall and winter.
    • Slim framed smaller glasses are a wardrobe staple. Indeed, one celebrity who loved to wear them in the 90s was Julia Roberts. Slim framed eyewear tends to look great with every face shape and occasion.
    • The oval, clear-framed glasses that were popular in the 90s are also returning. Make it more fun by going for a colored tint. Some interesting ones include light brown, pastel pink, or the more neutral shades.
    • Geometric shapes like cat eyes, rectangular or octagonal are in. You cannot go wrong with these bold yet simple shapes. Here is a tip: geometric shapes look fantastic on round or square faces. The angling creates a better definition of facial features.
    • Round-shaped eyewear like those popularized by Elton John is another fall and winter trend. You can go as big as you wish to make a statement. There is also the choice of the more conservative standard shape for that classic look.
    • The bug eye shape is not for everyone. But it is pretty interesting. Pick out a pair or two if you like to stand out. Also, experiment with colored or reflective black lenses.

    Final Thoughts

Fall and winter eyewear trends are quite interesting. We love the boldness of most of the designs. The colors, patterns, size, detailing, shapes, and materials provide many options. The re-emergence of some older trends only makes things more exciting.
