When it comes to the winter months, you must wrap up with the days getting much darker and colder. Not to mention that it can be very damp during this season.

Luckily enough, for men’s fashion, many winter jackets are on-trend at the moment. Allowing it to be easy when picking a style for any man, a gift for this holiday season. If the person whom you want to gift is into trekking and hiking, jackets for hiking and trekking will be perfect gift for him.

If you are looking at buying a gift for a man or just buying a jacket for yourself, you have come to the right place. Here are some of the most fashionable jackets this winter that can be worn and do the job of keeping you warm.

    Parka

This jacket can be worn all year round. However, multiple styles are suitable for different seasons. Additionally, they also have different tog ratings, making them more appropriate for the cold temperature. The higher the tog rating of a jacket, the warmer it will be. So, when it comes to a parka jacket, you want to look out for the tog rating.

Parka jackets have been popular for several years now. They were a popular style back in the 1990s with Britpop stars just as Liam Gallagher and Richard Ashcroft, as they both rocked them through the 90s. If you live in the United Kingdom, the House of Fraser is the place to go when it comes to a man’s jacket. With the change of ownership in recent years, clothing is far more affordable for the average person.

If you want to look like a 90s Britpop star whilst remaining warm, the parka jacket is the go-to. Parkas are in trend at the moment, so get them before it is too late.

    Puffer Jackets

Puffer jackets are arguably the most fashionable jacket for men’s fashion at the moment. These are great for keeping warm, although the usual style of a puffer jacket won’t have a hood. There are many luxury brands out there that have designed jackets for this trend. Tommy Jeans, The North Face and Canada Goose are great brands to pick. They might be at a premium price but, you are most certainly paying for quality with these brands.

As mentioned earlier, men’s puffer jackets tend to not have a hood. So, if you are wearing one of these jackets, you need to make sure you have something for your head. That could either be a woolly hat or, it could be a hoodie underneath that you can pull up. The best part about a puffer jacket is that you can layer them up without being too warm.

If you are buying a gift for a man, they will forever be grateful for a puffer jacket. Just make you go for your premium brands with a high tog rating for their jackets.

    Overcoat

Again, this is a coat that won’t protect your head from the rain but, it certainly will keep the majority of your body warm. The style of an overcoat will go way pat the thigh and sit just above the knee. The material of an overcoat will more than likely be made out of wool. Meaning that although they will keep you warm, they won’t keep you dry.

Wool overcoats can be easily more affordable compared to the other jackets that have been mentioned. They can also be bought in major high street stores in the UK. If you want them to look like a man that is up-to-date with the latest fashion trends. Invest in a turtleneck as well and wear it under the overcoat. If they do not have a turtleneck that is appropriate for winter, make sure they have a scarf instead.  For a touch of luxury, consider a chinchilla coat.

    Overshirt/ Shacket

It is a style that might not be the go-to when the winter days are at their coldest. However, you can wear it indoors when going to bars and restaurants. If the overshirt that you are going to wear outdoors, you need to make sure that it has plenty of padding on the inside of the jacket.

Again, this is a jacket that you layer up with a hoodie or a long sleeve sweater to make it more appropriate for the cold temperatures. Overshirts are very fashionable so, it would be hard to find clothing that does not look good. Nonetheless, you need to make sure that you check the weather before you go outside with an overshirt.

    To Conclude

The positive about men’s fashion is that the clothing tends to be more suitable for the season. As well as the garments looking fashionable, they do the job of keeping you warm. However, you do pay for quality. When it comes to buying a jacket, you have to expect that you will be paying a premium price. It is now time to put away those men’s full tracksuits and layer up with the much warmer items.
