Summer is coming, so it’s time to think about getting sun protection accessories. An umbrella that saves you from the sun’s rays is the perfect solution. Simply called a beach umbrella, it’s proven to be the perfect escape from the scorching summer sun’s rays in places where there’s nowhere to hide.
In addition to the main purpose – protection from sunlight, large outside umbrellas can have several other functions. Large umbrellas are subdivided by type of construction:
- Classic. It has no extra parts other than the support and the dome and is quite easy to set in the sand, pebbles and ground.

- Multilevel. It is characterized by stability and can hold a lot of people underneath.
It is adjustable by means of a special handle. Regardless of the position of the sun in the sky and the direction and strength of the wind, you will always be protected from the scorching rays.
Size
The standard diameter of a large umbrella dome is 1.6 meters. Such an umbrella is easy to transport and suitable for 1-2 people. If you want to buy an umbrella for a large group, the best option would be to buy an umbrella with a large diameter, e.g., 3,7 meters.
Material
The durability of the frame determines the reliability and stability of the umbrella. Responsible manufacturers pay special attention to this and only use carefully tested materials. Among these materials are steel and fiberglass. The steel frame with titanium coating is an excellent choice.
There are also less durable, but cheaper materials – plastic and aluminium. However, made of such material frame almost no chance that will serve you at least a couple of seasons. The advantages of such an umbrella are its low cost and low weight, which will not cause you much trouble when transporting it.
Water resistance is an important factor that should have a dome material. However, not all materials that make up the domes of beach umbrellas, have that property.
The best in this quality proved to be:
- nylon fibres;
- polyamide.
- polyester.
An umbrella made of polyester is easy to care for and is quite durable, but under it, there is no air exchange. Therefore, on a hot day under such an umbrella is not very pleasant. Polyamide is a durable and hard-wearing material and is resistant to cleaning chemicals. Nylon is also hard-wearing, durable, easy to clean and dries quickly.
