Adam Lupis is an Italian Canadian Actor and Talk Show Host living in Toronto, Canada.

Tell us a bit about your company and why you do what you do.

I host a YouTube Talk Show called “The Up & Adam Show” where I interview interesting guests and showcase different segments. I chose to pursue this because I love talking to people and I love hearing people’s stories. We all have something to bring to the table and I think it’s important to let people’s voices be heard. I’m a very good communicator and I take pride in making people feel very comfortable.

Is there anyone special who’s inspired you to forge ahead with your business?

Johnny Carson and Jay Leno are big inspirations to me. I love how they’re so genuine and are able to connect with their guests on such a personal level. That’s so important because I find that a lot of people can read others very well. They will know if your phony. I think many people pretend to be someone they’re not because they want better ratings, but they’re ultimately “selling out.” People like Leno and Carson stay true to who they are, and I think that’s what inspires me the most.

What makes your business different to any others doing a similar thing?

I love this question, and I get it a lot. What makes me and my snow different than others doing a similar thing is simply this: there is only one Adam Lupis. I am also putting out a show that I would’ve loved to watch.

If you could be remembered for one thing, what would it be?

I would want to be remembered for my perseverance. I believe that you can achieve anything in life if you truly work hard and you do it for the right reasons. Now, those reasons can differ from person to person, but as long as you are gaining fulfillment out of what you’re doing, then you will truly be happy and successful.

Do you have a motto or a mantra you apply to either work, life, or both?

“Going in one more round when you don’t think you can — that’s what makes all the difference in your life.” This is one of my favourite quotes by the very talented Sylvester Stallone. I live by this quote. It’s much easier to stand down and take a loss than to stand up and fight for the win, but, once you win or succeed, you will know it was worth it. And if you don’t win or succeed, at least you gave it your all and you won’t have any regrets.

What do you think is your greatest success in life?

My greatest success in life is quitting a job that made me unhappy to follow my dreams. Many people are stuck in something they don’t want to do, all because they are too comfortable with what they are doing and afraid to change.

    What motivates you?

My family motivates me. They are the ones that support me no matter what, and stand by me through thick and thin. They have also been so understanding with the path I’ve chosen — and I’m eternally grateful for it.

Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

I sing in the shower all the time but I’m not very good! [laughs] I usually sing Frank Sinatra songs because they’re so relaxing. And what better setting than a shower! I really love “You Make Me Feel So Young” and “I’ve Got the World on a String.” It’s a little escape from reality.

What would be the ideal food to have cooked for you on a date night?

It would have to be a big seafood dinner. I LOVE seafood. I would want mussels to start, a big platter of snow crab legs, some lobster tail, and since I’m Italian let’s throw in a plate of pasta while we’re at it! [laughs]

Which fictional character do you wish was real?

I would love for Harry Potter to be real. For one thing, it would mean Hogwarts actually exists and I could fulfill my dream of becoming a wizard! Also, I feel like Harry, and I are very similar. We are both loyal, brave and handsome!

What was the last TV series you watched on TV?

I watched “Entourage” on HBO. Such an amazing show and I’m totally jealous of the life they have! I also think Ari Gold is the funniest man alive.

What movie ending really frustrated you? And how would you change it?

I think the ending of “Inception” frustrated me the most. That movie was so well done and to this day it holds up as one of my favourites, but the ending always leaves me on the edge! I think I would’ve made the totem stop spinning and fall, but since Dom is so fixated with seeing his children, it just shows he doesn’t care whether it’s real or not, but rather it’s the reality he wants to live in.

If you were talking to a younger version of you, what advice would you give yourself?

I would tell my younger self to never stop chasing his dreams and to never get discouraged. I would also say how proud I am of him and that I’m happy he keeps everyone in the family smiling.
