Born and raised in the small town of West Columbia, South Carolina, Bowen’s country charm and background in the gospel genre shaped her unique musical style — traditional country with a soulful approach.
Singing from the age of five years old, her energetic stage presence and powerhouse vocals have earned her top spots in movies, commercials, and modeling shoots. In addition to reigning champion of the Outdoor Channel’s popular show For Love or Likes, Bowen has been featured across popular media such as Taste of Country, Hollywood Life, and The Academy of Country Music.
Have you always been interested in music?
At a young age, I loved music and knew singing was what I wanted to be doing. I started singing in church when I was 5 years old and never looked back. The Gift of music is something that was passed down from my mom’s side of the family. There were incredible singers and musicians in her family.
Was there a particular song/performance that made you say “Woah! I want to do that!
The first time I had ever heard George Strait sing “I get carried away” I knew that I wanted to sing Country Music. I would listen to that song over and over and just imagine myself on the stage singing it. Something about the vulnerability in his voice and the emotion he projected was powerful. That song made such an impact on me. It truly put me in the direction I wanted to go as a singer.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
The songs I write usually are based on real experiences. I think as a songwriter we write about what we know. I happen to know a lot about heartbreak and finding strength. I want to create music that speaks to people. If that takes facing some of my own battles to help others I will do that to make an impact.
What was your creative process like for your upcoming song release “Son Of A Gun”? Any fun stories you can share from the writing/recording process?
This is a true story about a guy that I dated. I found out he was seeing someone else while he was seeing me. I happened to be on the phone with him before I went into a write and I was upset thinking about what had happened. I walked into this write and I looked at my co-writer and said “ I know just what we can write about today” and the rest is history. We wrote a fierce song about a girl finally saying enough is enough.
Towards the end of 2022, you released your debut album Like You’ve Never Been Loved. What was that experience like getting to release a full body of work into the world?
I had been wanting to put out an album for a long time. I can’t explain the happiness it gave me to release it. I put my heart and soul in making that album. I wanted it to carry people through a journey of love, loss and finding strength after a breakup. It’s an album I am very proud of.
A Lot of the songs on the album have such inspirational underlying messages. Does it make you nervous to share the more vulnerable sides of yourself in your music? And if, so how do you overcome it?
I always say that it is easier for me to sing about my life experiences than it is for me to talk about it. I find healing in my music. Some days recording I would feel emotional behind the mic but I knew that my music would help someone else heal as it had done for me. I think my purpose is to help others through my music. I want to inspire others.
If we were to look at the artists you are listening to, who would be on your playlist?
You would see Jimmie Allen, Lainey Wilson, Chris Stapleton, Dolly Parton and even Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston. I listen to a lot of Gospel as well. I’ve always listened to all genres.
What are your plans for any future releases?
I am focused on writing right now. From here on out I would like to make my mark as a songwriter. I’m ready to share my stories with the world. I also will be back in the studio recording soon for a future release.

You are a new addition to a crayon box. What color would you be and why?
I would be the brightest pink I could be! Pink is my favorite color because it’s vibrant and is a cheerful color.
What makes you nostalgic?
The holidays usually make me nostalgic. I always think back to my childhood and the wonderful memories I made with my family.
If you could ask your future self one question, what would it be?
I would want to know about my career and how far did my music take me
If you could learn any language fluently what would it be?
I would like to learn French. I started learning French when I was younger and then gave up on it. I would love to learn this beautiful language
