DYLVN is an alternative/indie artist from San Clemente, CA. While growing up in San Clemente, CA, songwriting and performing pulled at DYLVN like a magnet.

After graduating, his friends encouraged him to jump into music, revealing his personal emotions. In 2020, he released his first single, “Dust of Love,” which picked up a little traction on Spotify showing DYLVN that there was an audience for his music.

This later led him to release “Falling Far From Home ”, his debut album in 2021 which is a series of songs about personal life experiences and heartbreak.

After some time in the studio in early 2022 to focus on his songwriting, DYLVN released his song ‘Drunk on Drugs’, which garnered 5.5 million views across Tik Tok and Instagram, once again proving to him that there is a space/audience for his music.

Now in 2023, DYLVN is ready to release his next project titled ‘Tell Them Stories’, which is an ode to all of the people in his life that have believed in him and his music.

What first got you into music?

Listening to Blink 182, Bob Marley, and Tom Petty in the car as a kid. Loved screaming their songs and always wanted to sing them no matter what time of the day. That’s what really started my love for singing and music.

What is your creative process like?

It’s pretty wild sometimes… Start with guitar usually.. then mumble a bunch of weird melodies and piece them together. If someone didn’t know I was doing music and was eavesdropping on me mumbling they’d def be like “wtf is wrong with him in there” lol.

What are your ambitions as a songwriter and musician come from?

Definitely from me tending to overthink a lot.. writing music lets me get things out in a way that’s therapy for me and makes life make sense! I need it.

Who are your main musical influences?

Love me some Blink, Bob Marley, Posty, Rebelution, Bob Dylan,

What would you be doing right now if it weren’t for your music career?

Honestly, I have no idea… I’d probably be a teacher or a sunset hunter lol

Of your own music, do you have a favorite? If so, can you pin down why?

Such a tough question, I feel like every time I write a new song it’s my favorite. In conclusion, I love them all because they bring me to a different part of life.

What is one message you would give to your fans?

Be yourself always, and don’t take life so seriously!

What are your plans for any future releases?

Big EP coming out June 23rd called “Tell Them Stories”! Thereafter got tons of new music comin’! The past 6 months have been all studio sessions so I’m excited to roll them out!

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

Being more organized with life lol

Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

All songs! But if I had one gimme Waiting In Vain – Bob Marley

What’s your least favorite personality trait you like about yourself?

I sugar coat a lot of things instead of getting to the point.. life’s always been easier when you just say it how it is!

If you could be a superhero, what would your superpower be and your superhero name?

My super power would be being able to have whatever meal I wanted in front of me, just on the command of thought. The name would be “Al La Carte”

What is the meaning behind the song Tell Them Stories?

“This song is about living every moment to the fullest. Although there are some nights you might regret, they make for great stories and ways to grow throughout life. I wanted to stress the importance of telling people my story so when I die they tell other people for me. I can’t really go throughout a day without telling someone what’s on my mind good or bad as it relieves all my worries. Subliminally it shows who I am, and tells people not to take life so seriously, and be who YOU are, not someone else. Let loose and make some damn stories!” – DYLVN
