The 14-year-old military daughter has spent her childhood dividing time between the family homes; spending the school year at the farm in Pittsburgh, PA, and summer break, vacations and holidays in Destin, Florida. Gracie has developed a genuine appreciation for both cultures and the varied lifestyles have shaped her “breath of fresh air” outlook.

Deriving inspiration from her siblings who suffer from disabilities, the ballad delves into the teenage artist’s compassion and care for loved ones cherished. Getting to know Graciela
What was the last thing you dressed up for (fancy)?
I “dressed” for my recent performance at the Pony League World Series and my first day back to school!
Do you have a cherished childhood teddy bear or other stuffed animal sitting on your bed at home?
The stuffed camel that my dad sent home to me from Kuwait several years ago. We are a military family and he’s gone a lot. The camel is a reminder of what he is doing for our country and it’s a little piece of him that gives me comfort.
What was the last TV series you watched on TV?
“Outer Banks”
Which fictional character do you wish was real?
Damon Salvatore of “The Vampire Diaries.”
Tell us what your ideal partner might look like if you could order one from ‘Partners R Us’.
He would be TALL (over 6 foot), blonde, athletic, sweet, kind, caring, loyal, trusting and definitely make me laugh!
Which are cooler? Dinosaurs or Dragons?
Dragons, hands down!
What do you think the greatest invention has been?
The Piano!
Do you have any lucky items, objects, or traditions?
No. 13 is my number in sports; it’s a lucky number for our family. I also have not one, but three, black cats, and I LOVE Halloween!
If you were captain of a ship, what would you call it?
“Body Yachty”
What movie ending really frustrated you? And how would you change it?
“Titanic;” Jack would live!
What first got you into music?
I started piano lessons when I was six years old, and began singing about three years ago. My parents listen to music from the 80s, so I’ve been introduced to great recordings and bands from that era. We listen to Queen, Gun N’ Roses, and so many other great bands. My love for music, especially rock and pop, runs deep.
Who are your musical inspirations and why?
I have so many musical influences and am drawn to recording artists and musicians from multiple genres. I especially have a kinship for those that play piano and sing. Some that come to mind: the great Freddie Mercury, Lady Gaga, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Axl Rose, Elton John, and so many more.
How would you describe the music that you typically create/write/record?
I definitely have a pop/rock driven musical spirit. My music is a blend of both, with lots of piano highlights.
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
WOW! What a question! There are so many artists that I would enjoy writing with, but the first on the list would be Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.
Was the isolation of the pandemic conducive to your writing or did it hinder the experiences you can write about?
The pandemic, while a horrific life experience for all, presented a great opportunity for me to concentrate on my craft—both lyrically and musically. I had free, downtime, to just write and record. I spent a lot of time in the studio recording during the pandemic.
With the pandemic, how have you found a way to get your music and your message out there?
I utilize social media and digital platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, etc.
What is the most important thing you learned from the pandemic?
COVID taught me to appreciate simple, everyday things. I never thought I would miss going to school, or to the store, or just seeing people smile without masks. I learned it’s the little things that make life special and learned the importance of health, family and friends.
What is one message you would give to your fans?
No matter what you dream, you CAN do it with hard work, dedication and determination. Just go for it and “Seize the Day!”
What career path would you take if you were unable to pursue your music career?
I would want to pursue a career at NASA. I’m a big stargazer; I love staring at the night sky. To explore “what’s up there,” would be amazing.
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Words from Brennan Peirson: “Just remember your network is more important than your net worth.”
What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?
As long as I don’t undergo another vocal chord surgery, my plans are to write and record my second album this winter, while continuing to roll out more songs from my first EP. So, please stay tuned for more new music coming your way!
What is your biggest musical challenge?
I have lesions and I have experienced vocal chord issues. I had surgery last year to remove them; during the recovery, I had to remain silent for one month. Can you imagine a teenager being silent for any period of time? Regrettably, my last check-up revealed a lesion had returned on my right vocal chord. I’ve been traveling back and forth to Boston to determine the next step. I lose my voice frequently; it’s been VERY challenging.
If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom to the next musical generation, what would it be? Start early.
Start young. Don’t give up!
