Hunter Sheridan is a Canadian musician whose music delivers introspective, soulful songwriting with warm melodies that weave a euphoric atmosphere. Hunter’s writing highlights self-discovery, honest lyrics, and dynamic arrangements, connecting with listeners across music genres. Find his latest single, The Moment’s in a Hurry Ft. Mattie Leon on all platforms now.

What is your creative process like?

I usually sit down with a chord progression or drum beat in mind, record it, then step back and listen to what vocal melodies can be added and where I feel the song should go structurally and melodically. Lyrics commonly come last for me. Once I am happy with the overall feeling of the song, or if I’m stuck on something, I’ll bring it to a group of co-writer friends to help me finalize the missing pieces.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Right now, I am part of an exciting collaboration project with Ontario songwriters Nick Babcock, Ty Callan, Nolan Hubbard and Jordan Moore. We will be releasing music in 2024 but have spent the last two years building a repertoire of releases.

If you could go open a show for any artist, who would it be?

The Brook & The Bluff, for sure.

Are you finding the isolation of the pandemic conducive to your writing, or is it hindering the experiences about which you can write?

It certainly changed the way I approach writing music. I was able to learn a bit about the process of home recording, so I built a little studio and started building demos. Most of my recent releases have been recording this way, and it allowed me to grow as a producer for my own material, and various other projects I am working on.

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?

It has made opportunities more readily available, but with such easy access to promote your music, or craft, it has been harder to break through. But overall, it is a really good thing for anyone promoting their passions and you get exposed some really incredible stuff.

What are your ambitions as a songwriter and musician from here?

I am excited to be releasing my second album on October 7th, 2023. I am also actively producing and recording with two other projects set for release late in 2023, and 2024!

What is the most useless talent you have?

I taught myself how to juggle after a season of working on an apple orchard. I can’t juggle well, but my apple training was successful.

What would be the ideal food to have cooked for you on a date night?

French onion soup appetizer and a salmon dinner!

What was the last TV series you watched on TV?

Painkiller! It is crazy. Highly recommend.

Which fictional character do you wish was real?

Yoda, he seems like a lot of fun.

If you could ask your future self-one question, what would it be?

Have the Toronto Maple Leafs won the cup yet?

Hunter unveils a new single titled “The Moment’s in a Hurry” (feat. Mattie Leon) about the moment you realize you are truly falling in love. Next, you’re trying to capture and preserve every detail, so you can enjoy it as much as possible.

Through self-recording and producing, the message of the song is highlighted by simple instrumentation and storytelling lyrics that are strengthened by catchy melodies and a nostalgic atmosphere.
