Multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Rebecca Lynn is a two-time Grammy Award and International Bluegrass Music Award winner. Hailing from Salyersville, KY, she has written songs for Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, Runaway June, Clay Aiken, and more. Rebecca’s voice can be heard on the albums of legends including Dolly Parton, Patty Loveless, and Vince Gill.

What first got you into music?

My entire family are musical. Singers, banjo pickers, pianists, guitar players, mandolin players….you name it. I almost couldn’t escape becoming a musician.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

I like to think that my music touches all emotions. Toe tapping or heart-wrenching. My end goal is always to move you in some way.

If you could go open a show for any artist, who would it be?

    Bonnie Raitt

What would you be doing right now if it weren’t for your music career?

It’s hard to imagine doing anything besides music, but I’ve always had an interest in holistic alternative medicine…so, probably that.

What is the best advice you have been given?

Kenny Rogers told me that a great singer can work as long as their voice holds up, but a great entertainer can work forever.

If you were to write an autobiography, what would the title be?

I like dogs more than people.

What would be the ideal food to have cooked for you on a date night?

    My favorite good is watermelon.

What would be a good theme song for your life?

    The Golden Girls theme song.

If you could learn any language fluently, what would it be?

    Hebrew and Italian

What is your favorite board game?

    Othello
