Seen as a frontrunner in the neo-French Touch (or “Fresh Touch”) scene, sitting amongst the likes of Polo & Pan, Folamour and Kid Francescoli, S+C+A+R+R – the alter ego of accomplished artist and producer Dan Levy of The Dø – releases long-awaited body of work titled ‘Cross Out’ EP with which he heads up with the indefatigable ‘Never Give Up’ and accompanying video.

The past year has been eventful for S+C+A+R+R, with his viral single and partnered visual for ‘The Rest Of My Days’ amassing 3 million views on YouTube, 2.6 million streams and later a remix from dance pop behemoth Galantis.

In addition, his music for the Oscar-nominated animation ‘I Lost My Body’ won the César Award for Best Original Score, and Drake’s ‘Toosie Slide’ walked so that S+C+A+R+R’s borderline perfect take could run, link here.

What is the most useless talent you have?

I pretend to know how to tie knots.

Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

Yes, only Italian Operas or old Neapolitan songs.

If you were to write an autobiography, what would the title be?

    Stitches open

If you could be a superhero, what would your superpower be and your superhero name?

Oh, I will be “Lost & Found”, the guy who knows where the lost things are. From key to Mind.

Which fictional character do you wish was real?

    S+C+A+R+R of course…

What first got you into music?

A drum beat. I was 7 in a jazz club.

Who inspired you to make music?

First, Monk, Nina Simone, Kanye West, James Brown, Diplo and Duke Dumont and secretly David Guetta and Selena Gomez.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Kind of pop / dance, emotional happiness.
