The track is taken from his forthcoming project ‘Heavens Gate’ EP and the single showcases his tender, velvety voice, which is instantly alluring and enigmatic. With a strong promise of longevity, Tamaraebi is shaping up to be tomorrow’s torchbearer within the realm of Soul and RnB music. Not only has he performed at Wembley Arena supporting Jonas Blue, but he also sold out his debut headline show at The Waiting Room in London earlier this year. The Nigerian-born artist has a rich tapestry of influence and experience. His parents’ work for the United Nations meant a nomadic upbringing with Nigeria, Nairobi, India and Sudan being places he had the opportunity to call home during different points of his childhood.
We caught up with him to ask him some questions.

I trust too much.

Aretha Franklyn.
What’s your most expensive piece of clothing?
Brb.
As a kid were you ever frightened of a monster under the bed or in the cupboard?
Yes definitely.
What are cooler? Dinosaurs or Dragons?
Dragons.

Your music appears to be rooted in emotional life experiences in general. Tell us a bit about your music and the specific inspiration for the lyrics and melodies that you write.
I think I’m quite in tune with my surroundings and my emotions so my real life mixed my imagination inspires me.
What advice would you have for anyone trying to break into the music business? Do you think or is it that anyone can get anywhere if they try hard enough and believe in themselves?
First of all, I would say- know yourself, plan out your moves carefully but don’t be afraid to go with the flow, keep your love for music alive and don’t stop. I also honestly think anything is possible so yes.
Due to your diverse background, you’ve been described as being a self-proclaimed social chameleon, with an ability to blend in anywhere. Do you enjoy social events, being at the forefront of things and of course, performing?
Social chameleon! I don’t particularly enjoy social events but I’ll go and end up having a good time. I wouldn’t say I enjoy being at the forefront of things but I love to sing + perform so I guess I do? lol.
Tinie Tempah scouted you from Instagram on what seems to be a fairy tale beginning. Tell us a bit about how you felt when this happened.
It was like something out of a movie ngl. It affirmed my self belief and gave me the motivation to carry on cos this is just the start of my journey.
Nina Simone, Prince and Bob Dylan have been quoted as some of your influencers. In today’s music world in 2020, who would be some influencers for you?
I love SiR, Tiana Major9, Kendrick Lamar, Swae Lee, Ama Lou, there are loads of artists I enjoy.
What’s on the cards for the future for you?
World domination for sure!
