Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Bloom echoes west coast influences in her music. The powerhouse rocker is both sweet and blunt, a personality trait that holds true in her music. Inspired by punk, singer-songwriters, and rockers from the 70s and 80s, she is influenced by icons like Joan Jett, Pink Floyd, Iggy & The Stooges, and Tom Petty, when writing. As a songwriter, she aims to translate raw feelings into her music, inviting listeners to go through the emotions with her. How would you describe the music that you typically create?
I’d say they are seeds that reflect my current situation and grow into rocknroll flowers. Haha, too cheesy? I almost always write my songs on the acoustic and then arrange them into rock songs. So, at first, they might sound more like singer/songwriter but in my head, I already know where it’ll end up, even before the song is finished. I just love rock music so much.
What is your creative process like?
I write from pain quite often but sometimes from love, too (which can also be painful), or fear. Most of my songs just come to me, waking me up at night and not leaving me alone until they are out. Sometimes, I just sit down with my guitar or bass guitar (a new tool I’ve been experimenting with writing with) and just let something form. In those instances, the music comes before the lyrics, but more often than not the lyrical idea comes first.
Are you finding the isolation of the pandemic conducive to your writing or is it hindering
the experiences you can write about?
My next single, “Serenity” is all about the isolation of the pandemic, so I’d say it hasn’t hindered my writing process at all.
Has your musical journey had a deliberate direction or did it simply gradually evolve in
whatever direction it found?
I actually want to say that both of these things are true. At the moment I always feel like it is gradually evolving over time. But, in reflection, I know that I am always constantly trying to scratch this “itch” I feel. The thing I can see but just can’t touch. I always deliberately change my course to chase this itch. I get closer and closer as I tune in and follow my gut. I’m the closest I’ve ever been.
What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future

Yes!!! I will be releasing my next single, “Serenity” along with a collage-style stop motion lyric video. I am also currently booking many shows so be on the lookout.
What is the most useless talent you have?
Probably the mouth trumpet.
Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?
Either Scarlett Johansson or Angela Jolie. I mean, who wouldn’t want that?
If you had to describe yourself as a flavor, what would it be?
I’m definitely spicy and sweet. Sooo…maybe mango habanero? hahaha
What makes you nostalgic?
Autumn breeze and leaves. And marinas.
