Liam Horne lives inside that charged moment on “Again,” pairing sleek pop-R&B with the nervous exhilaration of crossing a line that cannot easily be redrawn.
Following “Paradise” and “Everywhere,” the new single continues Horne’s current run of emotionally direct material while its official music video translates that tension into movement, proximity and visual friction.
That split second when everything changes
At the center of “Again” is recognition. Not the slow construction of a new romance, but the disorienting realization that an existing connection has quietly become something else.
Horne wrote the track alongside four-time Grammy Award-winning songwriter James Fauntleroy and Grammy Award-winning producer Brian Kennedy. The collaboration gives that emotional pivot a polished frame: contemporary R&B warmth meeting the immediate pull of pop songwriting.
Director Pat Clark carries the same idea into the accompanying video, using visual tension and restless energy to mirror the uncertainty of moving beyond friendship.
“With the ‘Again’ video, we really wanted to capture that crazy, split-second shift when you look at a close friend and suddenly think, ‘Oh, it’s you. It’s always been you,’” Horne says. “It’s visual tension, a bit of dynamic chaos, and that super relatable rush of crossing a line you can’t uncross.”
Pop polish with an R&B pulse
That combination of emotional clarity and clean melodic instinct is becoming central to Horne’s latest chapter. Rather than separating pop immediacy from R&B intimacy, he lets the two occupy the same space. The hooks arrive quickly, but the feeling underneath them remains personal.
It is also where his collaborators make sense. Kennedy’s production history includes work connected to major contemporary pop and R&B records, while Fauntleroy’s songwriting credits stretch across artists including Beyoncé, Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake. Together with Horne’s longtime industry partner and producer UHLONE, the team surrounds his songwriting with experience without sanding away its emotional center.
On “Again,” that center is desire complicated by familiarity. There is already history between the people in the song. What changes is the way that history suddenly feels.
A Scottish beginning, a Los Angeles education
Horne’s own relationship with change began early. Originally from Scotland, he moved to Los Angeles while young to pursue music, exchanging one landscape for another while simultaneously trying to establish an artistic identity.
That displacement continues to echo through his writing. Connection, belonging, ambition and the work of constructing a life recur naturally in songs shaped by someone who learned early that familiarity is not permanent.
His first major industry breakthrough came as a co-writer on “Out of Town Girl” from Justin Bieber’s 2012 album Believe. Horne later developed his own audience through songs including “Tragedy” and “The Truth Is,” alongside YouTube performances that placed his voice and personality at the center.

The progression from “Paradise” and “Everywhere” into “Again” suggests an artist increasingly comfortable with restraint. Horne does not need to inflate the emotional premise. A glance changing meaning is enough. So is the uneasy space between recognizing attraction and deciding what to do with it.
