When it comes to planning a wedding abroad, things can become a bit stressful. Taking a look at the top vacation tips for planning a destination wedding.

Have you recently gotten engaged? Are you thinking about a destination wedding?

One in four weddings today are destination weddings. Las Vegas takes the top spot by a landslide, but what are the 2020 wedding locations?

Whatever the location, planning a wedding abroad can be a little more stressful than normal. Let’s take a look at the top vacation tips for planning a destination wedding. It will help even if you are planning a Myrtle Beach Simple Wedding Day.

Planning a Destination Wedding? Check Out The Top Vacation Tips

When choosing a wedding locale, what are your top priorities? What are your main concerns? Check out these tips for planning your overseas wedding miles away from home. Let us help you plan every detail for your special day.

    1. Choose a Place That Means Something to You Both

Is there a place that you both have always wanted to visit? Did you meet in a place that would be perfect for a wedding that you want to share with your family and friends?

Whatever the location, be sure that it can accommodate a wedding. Is there more than one place to stay? Are there venue choices for a reception? From the perfect castle to an escape room, the sky is the limit with wedding venues.

    1. Timing is Everything

The best weather in many locations will also coincide with the tourist season, but planning a wedding just before or after the busiest times can work.

You’ll still catch some of the great weather without the higher prices and larger crowds.

Either way, book your venue and hotel for your guests as far in advance as possible to get the best choices and save a little money.

    1. Give Plenty of Notice

Consider those you’d like to be a part of your wedding party first. Tell them your plans so they can respectfully decline or begin to save like they would when planning a vacation.

Send out save-the-date cards at least 8 or 9 months ahead of time. Those who wish to be there will want enough notice to book the most reasonably-priced flights and have the opportunity to make it into a vacation as well.

    1. Know the Local Legalities

Find out the legal requirements for getting married in your chosen location. Is there a residency requirement? Believe it or not many countries require you to be there at least a few days before the wedding.

Thinking about getting married in France? You’ll need to be there 40 days ahead of time. Educate yourself before committing to any plans.

    1. Have a Local Contact

Don’t try to plan your wedding from miles and miles away without help from someone local. Just like planning a vacation, it is helpful to deal with someone who is familiar with the location and how things work there.
