Danish artist Loud Tiger returns with ‘Thirsty’—a raw and evocative track about longing for intimacy, even when it hurts.
You hear the single released August 22, the second release from her upcoming album.
You find it unfolds musically in a dusty pop universe with twangy country guitars and a dark, cinematic atmosphere.
‘Thirsty’ follows up on ‘Cactus,’ which was featured in GAFFA—Denmark’s most influential music magazine—and received airplay on two of the country’s biggest national radio stations, along with coverage from several international music blogs.
With ‘Thirsty,’ Loud Tiger dives into deeply personal territory. It’s a song about wanting something—or someone—so badly that you ignore all the warning signs.
You feel the mood is dusty and intimate, with twangy country guitars, slow-burning beats, and vocals that move between vulnerability and a romantic urge to follow desire, no matter the consequences.
“Thirsty is about the dilemma of being a hopeless romantic—someone who wants to keep believing in love but keeps falling for people who have no intention of staying,” says Viktoria Siff, the woman behind Loud Tiger.
The soundscape draws inspiration from American desert pop and artists like Kacey Musgraves and Taylor Swift at her darkest and most melancholic. The lyrics are raw and unfiltered, with lines like “Don’t have to do me dirty, da fuck” cutting through and setting the tone for a track that dares to be both honest and uncompromising.
In May, Loud Tiger introduced her upcoming third album with the single ‘Cactus.’ The song drew attention both in Denmark and internationally—it was named Weekly Hit Tip on national radio station P4, playlisted on P5, and highlighted in GAFFA, Denmark’s leading music magazine.
Outside of Denmark, ‘Cactus’ was featured by blogs such as Bored City, Fame Magazine, She Makes Music, Nordic Music Central, and Buzz Slayers.
With ‘Thirsty,’ Loud Tiger continues her journey toward her upcoming third album, set for release later this year. The single was produced in collaboration with Jeppe Engelbrecht, Nanna Bottos, and Kristoffer Fuglsang.
Loud Tiger is the solo project of singer-songwriter and vocal coach Viktoria Siff, who has worked behind the scenes with global stars such as Alicia Keys, Macy Gray, and JJ Wilde. After five years in London and another five in Los Angeles—where she was signed by Tommy Brown (Ariana Grande, Blackpink)—she has now returned to Denmark, fully dedicated to her music.
She has won a JUNO Award for Rock Album of the Year with JJ Wilde and achieved platinum status with releases such as Luna Llena (Malu Trevejo) and Magnetic Moon (Tiffany Young), which topped the iTunes charts in 24 countries. As a certified CVT vocal coach, she has toured the world with 5 Seconds of Summer, worked on X Factor Denmark, and supported artists across all genres—from heavy metal to classical.
With Loud Tiger, she has created her own musical universe—a blend of Americana, pop, and soul, driven by strong messages and a deeply personal touch. Her music has been playlisted on Apple Music’s Best New Songs Americana, Southern Craft, New in Country, and New in Rock, as well as Spotify’s Created By Women and New Music Friday. What first got you into music?
I was a dancer first. From when I was 4. Then I started doing musicals singing and dancing at like 13. I got headhuntet to be in a girlband in Germany at the age of 15. I ended up saying no to the contract… But that’s what started everything I guess.
Do you have any rituals before you hit the stage? If so, what are they?
I usually get very quiet before any kind of show. I guess to charge myself up and try and quench the nervousness????
I do my buddhist chant (Nam Myoho Renge Kyo)… and then I usually have to pee like 10 times???? lol. Then I do a little check in with the band where we voice how awesome the show is gonna be…and then we go have fun ????
What is your creative process like?
I get ideas for melodies and lines ALL the time and I have to get them down right away otherwise they are GONE???? Some songs (like my last single) I woke up in the middle of the night with that chorus in my head and got it down on voicememo. I changed the melody but the concept and words stayed.
Otherwise I like to treat songwriting as my job (which it is). I clock in at the studio around 9.30/10. My creative juices peak before noon and by the time we go for lunch we most likely will have most of a song done. Then we go finish it and record it after lunch. I hate staying in the studio long. I wanna get out at 6 pm at the latest????
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Some of my all time favourites are Dolly Parton, Sia, Brandy. But honestly … there are too many to mention.
What would you be doing right now if it weren’t for your music career?
I think if I hadn’t ended up in music I would have been a teacher or a phycologist.
But luckily music allows me to do all of it (almost). I coach a lot of young talents in how to maneuver the business and their physical and mental health. I teach people how to sing. And I get to interview artists in a very intimate setting and we process their issues by writing songs about them. I feel very lucky.
Could you please share your most unique talent or party trick with us?
I can breathe fire!! I didn’t even know I could until Morten Rygaard (a world famous photographer) asked if I could come help him out with a shoot for Sony Cameras. It was in October, it was freezing and I was wearing very little clothes.
And I had to learn there and then and do it 120 times in a row. It was the hardest Shoot I’ve ever done in my life. But it gave us a good picture!!!
If you were a tree, what kind would you be and why?
I would be a big old oak tree with branches strong enough to hold a tree house studio!
What would be the most suitable dish to have prepared for you on a date night?
I love Vietnamese food. So if the person could whip up a good beef noodle salat…
that would be a great start.
As a kid were you ever frightened of a monster under the bed or in the cupboard?
I remember watching x-files and a demonic creature could turn liquid and come out of any vent… I was terrified for months walking into any room with a vent ????
