Maddy Little is establishing a unique niche in the Canadian indie alt-pop scene, blending dreamy textures with raw honesty. Drawing inspiration from the fuzzy nostalgia of Alvvays and the sharp songwriting of Soccer Mommy, Maddy crafts tracks that feel like a late-night conversation with a close friend—vulnerable, relatable, and impossible to get out of your head.
At her core, Maddy is a storyteller. She has a knack for wrapping heavy, “big-feeling” moments in soft melodies, making the exploration of the human heart feel less like a chore and more like a shared experience.

The New Single: “All My Fault”
Her latest release, “All My Fault,” serves as a raw, bittersweet anthem for anyone who has ever stayed too long in a “situationship.” The track charts the exhausting cycle of a push-and-pull romance, capturing that pivotal moment when the fog of self-doubt finally lifts to reveal a path toward self-respect.
“It feels like the end of something painful, but the beginning of something better,” Maddy shares. “I’m finally out of that dark part of my life and focused on being happier—and I truly am.”
Sound & Spirit
Recorded in a studio environment built on intuition and mutual trust, the track’s organic, stripped-back production allows Maddy’s voice to take center stage. She doesn’t shy away from the ugly parts of the process—the internalized blame, the manipulation, and the fear of walking away. Instead, she uses them as a bridge to reach a place of resolve.
“All My Fault” represents more than just a song about a breakup; it marks a significant sonic shift for an artist who is finally asserting her worth and discovering her own voice.

Who inspired you to make music?
When I was in high school, my friend and I would watch music videos on YouTube. One day she came over, and we stumbled upon Coming Home by City and Colour. After that, I listened to every City and Colour song, and that inspired me to start writing. Dallas Green is still one of my biggest inspirations.
What sets your music apart? What is unique, or at least uncommon?
I really love how diverse Indie Alternative can be. I think what sets me apart is my own personal experiences and storytelling through my songs.
Who are your main musical influences?
Soccer Mommy, Alvvays, City and Colour, and a band called Dizzy.
What would you be doing right now if it weren’t for your music career?
I stumbled into props for film for a little while and loved it. I worked on the first season of Chucky, the TV show, and a couple commercials and had so much fun!
If we were to look at the artists you are listening to, who would be on your playlist?
Taylor Jenzen, Soccer Mommy, Housewives, Loviet, and Pedro The Lion.
What is the best advice you have been given?
Some advice I received a while ago was, “You have to believe in the songs you’re creating and not what you think other people would want to hear.” This has really allowed me to not overthink while I write and just create what brings joy to my heart. The last few years have had me creating some of my most favorite and meaningful songs, and I truly believe in them and myself.
What would be a good theme song for your life?
Probably music you would hear at a circus. Just a lot of chaos, haha.
What was the last TV series you watched on TV?
Jumped on the Stranger Things bandwagon and personally loved it.
Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?
Martha Stewart, I just know she’d kill it.
Which fictional character do you wish was real?
Dory from Finding Nemo—she just seems like the sweetest little fish, and I’d like her to be my friend.
What’s your favorite children’s story?
My grandfather has a jukebox, and I always used to play the song Take It Easy by The Eagles and dress up in a princess dress and dance around the house. I teach music now and whenever that song comes up it’s a very happy memory for me.
