New York artist Cade Hoppe releases heartfelt soft pop single Afterparty

“Afterparty” is the heartfelt soft pop follow-up single to “Click Boom Run”—the fourth in a series of ongoing collaborations this NYC-based artist has done with producer Harper James and the first co-written with Maddie Regent.  This very organic record is centered around layered guitars and drums, but it’s ultimately storytelling that plays the driving force.

This song delves into the deepest insecurities of a relationship, exploring whether someone can really love you at your lowest and most vulnerable points.  It is a song about acceptance—more specifically accepting that someone who loves you for being the “life of the party” can still love you when they discover you’re not always like that.  “Would you stay? Would you stay?” Cade asks over and over again because when everyone else has walked away, it’s hard to believe it when you’ve finally found someone that won’t.

Imagine if The National made a Taylor Swift record endorsed by Chris Martin, Jack Antonoff, and Ben Folds—now you essentially have a Cade Hoppe record. But no matter whose music inspires comparison, this 21-year-old NYC-based artist sets himself apart from others in the pop landscape with his warm, baritone vocals complemented by earnest lyricism and sticky pop melodies.

In late 2020, Cade connected and made his first collaboration with producer Harper James of indie pop-duo Eighty Ninety—this collaboration and indie-pop debut, “Loverly High,” was later released in May of 2021.  That was followed by “On My Way Down” and “Click Boom Run,” which then led to newest single “Afterparty,” with more to come.
