NOISEVEIN Confronts Addiction on New Single “WATER

Salt Lake City genre-bending band NOISEVEIN releases “WATER,” the latest single from their upcoming Dungeons & Dragons-inspired debut album, PLANEWALKER. The track follows the album’s central character, The Planewalker, as they become consumed by alcohol addiction. Opening with luminous melodies, relaxed percussion, muted guitar, and synth-driven progressive rock, “WATER” initially captures the euphoric escape of intoxication before gradually shifting into something darker. As the character’s dependence grows, the instrumentation intensifies alongside the narrative, transforming the song from dreamlike to aggressive and oppressive.

The track’s progression mirrors the stages of addiction, with increasingly forceful percussion and guitar reflecting the Planewalker’s growing dependence. Lyrics evolve alongside the arrangement as the character moves from casual escape toward an inability to function without alcohol. By the song’s conclusion, the music reaches its heaviest point as the Planewalker is ultimately pulled under and drowned by their obsession. Produced by Cole Miller, Stewart Houser, and Jackson Ludlow, “WATER” continues NOISEVEIN’s approach of using contrasting genres, dynamic instrumentation, and storytelling to explore difficult aspects of the human experience.

Formed in Salt Lake City, NOISEVEIN consists of Miller, Ludlow, Dante Long, and Josh Gibson, with the band drawing inspiration from artists including Deftones, Queen, Bring Me The Horizon, Linkin Park, and Muse. PLANEWALKER unfolds as a series of interconnected chapters, with each song exploring a different emotional struggle through its own sonic identity. Previous singles “FIRE” and “ASH” examine religious trauma and grief, respectively, while “WATER” turns its focus to addiction.

Experience NOISEVEIN’s unique tales of the Planewalker by listening to their newest single “WATER.” Follow them on Instagram and keep up with their music through their website.
