Opening yourself up to new people and new relationships can be hard, especially when you’ve gone through previous heartbreaks.

Negative experiences have a funny way of resurfacing at the most inconvenient times, holding you back from pursuing what you love and preventing you from moving forward – letting go of those fears and anxieties is a choice. In “What Do Ya Know,” Remy Reilly chooses to embrace the exhilarating beginnings of new love rather than allowing her past to hold her back.

“I was annoyed that I still saw the good in people after they had done bad things, but then I realized it was a wonderful property to have. There are going to be bad people in your life, but you choose whether you change it and take it as a lesson. I never wanted to change my personality or light way of looking at people just because one person wasn’t kind to me.” –Remy Reilly

Effortlessly smooth vocals wash over listeners like a cool summer wave as the upbeat drums, and refreshing guitar lines wrap around the hopeful lyrics of Reilly’s spring anthem. Drawing from influences like Foster The People, James Supercave, and Kings of Leon, Reilly takes an all too familiar crossroads and reflects the positive outcome of pushing through anxiety, perfectly capturing the essence of new love with her cheerful lyrics and thrumming backtrack. As Reilly states in the track, she’s been down the road of falling in love before, but she refuses to let her past experiences stop her from moving forward.

Every spring needs a new anthem to blast through the speakers as you drive to the beach or laugh your way through a bonfire with friends – “What Do Ya Know” is the perfect bop to add to playlists with its breezy backtrack and catchy lyrics.
