Shriya’s debut EP, In a box, is an intimate and emotionally rich body of work that takes listeners through heartbreak, self-discovery, and longing.

Each track explores a different emotional landscape, offering a deeply personal yet universally relatable experience. With themes of resilience and empowerment woven throughout, In a box captures the highs and lows of love and identity. Now available on all major streaming platforms, Shriya’s debut leaves a lasting impression.

In a box reflects Shriya’s journey and the fragility of first-time betrayal. The first track, “Her,” is relatable to listeners and cinematically emphasizes the consequences of broken trust. Followed by a vulnerable ballad “I’m not alright,” the song comforts those who have struggled with their mental health and prolonged loneliness. It serves as a reminder to listeners that they are capable of confronting life’s challenges, no matter how hard it may seem at the moment. “Are you down” shifts the tone towards an upbeat and seductive vibe with R&B influences, while exploring the emotions associated with having a new crush. Closing out the EP, “Dream about it” creates a nostalgic and immersive atmosphere, reflecting on fleeting moments and unfulfilled desires. At just 18, Shriya is already making an impact in the music world. Hailing from Mumbai, India, she fuses pop, R&B, jazz, and soul into a distinctive sound. She has landed on major playlists, collaborated with brands like Nykaa Fashion and Lenskart, and signed with Sony’s sublabel, DayOne, at 17. Her single “On My Mind” amassed over 50,000 streams and gained recognition from Rolling Stone India, Tribune India, and The Sunday Guardian. She was also a top-five nominee for Best Female Artist (Jury’s Choice) at the 2024 Indian Music Awards. With In a box, Shriya establishes herself as a rising voice in the scene. Stream the EP now on all platforms and follow her journey on Instagram @JustShriyaRao.
