Through her intimate storytelling inspired by the devastating aftermath of the Palisades Fire in January 2025, Alissa transforms her sorrow into a universal portrait of longing and remembrance. Rather than lingering on the destruction of her safe haven, which she once deeply loved but has since fallen to ash, “Jacaranda Trees” is Alissa’s quiet acceptance, where she reflects on the lasting imprint that was left behind when forced to leave a meaningful place. Born in Albany, New York, and now based in Santa Monica, California, Erin Alissa brings a sun-soaked West Coast sound inspired by the 1960s and 70s. Drawing influence from artists like Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, and Sheryl Crow, Alissa’s approach to songwriting blends classic folk storytelling with a modern outlook. Performing approximately 200 shows annually, Alissa has made a name for herself as a seasoned performer, appearing regularly at some of Los Angeles’ most iconic venues such as The Hotel Cafe, Molly Malone’s, and The Viper Room, as well as having previously opened for actress and singer-songwriter Katey Sagal. Self-produced alongside GRAMMY-winning guitarist Janet Robin (Lindsey Buckingham, Air Supply, and John Carter Cash), “Jacaranda Trees” features Robin on acoustic and electric guitar with Chris Love on bass. The track was mixed by Alissa and Matt Hyde (No Doubt, Deftones), who also assisted with mastering.
