Iryne Rock is a singer, songwriter and worship leader with a distinct and electrifying sound that is quickly becoming a favorite among lovers of Gospel and Christian music across the globe. She grew up in her home country Nigeria listening to all genres of Christian and inspirational music, which she credits helped shape her musical style.
If you had a magic wand, what would you change in the world?
If I had a magic wand to change something in the world, I would eliminate poverty and corruption. The world would be such a better place without them.
If you could be remembered for one thing, what would it be?
This is a prayer- that I will be remembered for being great at everything I did including motherhood, being a wife, songwriting, singing, Christianity and loving other people.
Do you have a motto or a mantra you apply to either work, life, or both?
Whatever you do, do it with all your heart!
How do you cope with stress?
I pray about it and ask for help.
What would the closest person in your life say if we asked them, ‘What is the one characteristic that they totally dig about you, and the one that drives them insane?
My husband Joseph says that I am very driven but that I don’t like to share my stuff – my food and games (he was specific).
What is the most useless talent you have?
I read this out loud to my family and my 7-year-old son said, “yelling at me.”
Do you sing in the shower? What songs?
Of course, I do. I sing my original songs and anything that pops into my mind. The shower is my main center of creativity and I probably spend way too much time there. It is why my family complains about me using up all the hot water.
You are a new addition to a crayon box. What color would you be and why?
It has taken me many years to figure out my favorite color and I am so excited to share this news with you. The color would be Orchid- a gorgeous shade of purple. I just realized this was my favorite color this year, 2022!!!!
What was the last TV series you watched on TV?
Barry. I just started watching it a few weeks ago and I’m almost done with season 2. I enjoy watching several shows and really love comedies. Barry is pretty good (spoiler alert), I just wish they didn’t kill Janice.
Which fictional character do you wish was real?
All the Marvel superheroes, but not the villains. That would be bad if they came along.
Which are cooler? Dinosaurs or Dragons?
Come on, dragons- they are basically dinosaurs with superpowers- flying, blowing fire, some can be invisible? Dragons!
