Like a great many artists, Canadian-based nasmore grew up constantly attached the instruments surrounding him, fully immersed within music of all kinds as a listener, while teaching himself the fundamentals of how to write & play his own songs. With an exploratory and adventurous spirit, a tremendous natural skillset, and the courage to experiment with anything & everything new to him – nasmore developed an authentic taste for diversity that he instantly infused into his own unique process.
In 2021 he released a series of stunning instrumental singles. As he continued to morph, shape, and refine his talent – nasmore made an even more pivotal decision in the direction of his music-career to recruit guest-stars, and he began a collaborative process that soon became an essential part of the profound joy he discovered within the creative realm.
Tell us a bit about your company and why you do what you do.
I received formal and comprehensive musical education going from the age of 5 till I turned 17. Then my career had a 90-degree turn, away from music and into the IT world, and it’s been so until late 2020 when I felt that I had lots to “say” in musical terms. So today, music production is my second business.
Do you have a motto or a mantra you apply to either work, life, or both?
Do it really well or not at all.
If you could start all over again, what would you do differently?
I would be way more adventurous to take on opportunities presented to me.
What do you do to gain self-awareness when everyone is out to flatter you?
I don’t think I need to gain self-awareness as I believe I am quite aware of myself. So, I take flattering as if it would be a massage session – relax and enjoy it for an hour, then go home and do the dishes))
What motivates you?
I have a passion for psychology, and that’s what inspires me, and that’s what I translate into music. At the end of the day, music is a psychological tool. It appeals to your brain, and it can make you laugh; it can make you cry; it can make you angry and motivate you. A good example is one of my recent tracks – “Mind in a maze,” which, in a way, is a tribute to Dan Brown’s novels – “The Da Vinci Code,” “Angels and Demons,” “Inferno.” Lots of dark history, pointing to the roots of religion and driven by psychology.
How do you generate new ideas?
I think it’s an ongoing process. I observe people, behaviours, situations, surroundings, watch movies and read books, and listen to the sounds around me. I guess most people are too busy and wouldn’t pay attention to many things. But in my case, I notice them, and I envision them as a piece of music or song. There are so many things around us worth our attention, and we just need to look for them instead of just passing by.
Do you sing in the shower? What songs?
I tried a few times, and I have to tell you it didn’t work well because water and soap frequently get in your mouth, and I don’t really like its taste, haha.
If you had to describe yourself as a flavour, what would it be?
For a scent, it would be oud, and for a flavour – cognac
What was the last TV series you watched on TV?
I prefer not to dive into TV series. It takes too much time, and I only have 24hrs a day.
But there is an exception once in a while. So, I watched “The New Pope” with Jude Law
Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?
Johnny Depp
What’s your most expensive piece of clothing?
I own one cool stage jacket I bought at a thrift store 20 years ago for $20. A few weeks later, I was offered $1500 for it but decided to keep it.
