Taryn Papa is a force of nature. She’s a fighter with a tireless drive in the pursuit of her dreams. A strong and soulful young woman with something to say. She’s got a fresh take on modern country music and a knack for writing songs that feel like anthems. Her bold and sultry voice is both inspired by and infused with the powerful vocal range of Martina McBride and the pop attitude of Kelly Clarkson.

Have you always been interested in music? Was there a particular song/performance that made you say “Woah! I want to do that!”?

Yes!! So many moments it’s hard to choose but -The first time I ever sang along to a song was “what’s up” by 4 non blondes, which later became the first song I learned on guitar. A Performance that stood out to me would be Kelly Clarkson’s finale performance on American idol.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

My music is inspired by Country storytelling with pop Melodies and catchy hooks.

What was your creative process like for your most recent release “Persuaded”?

“Persuaded” is a song I wrote when I was 23 and first moved to Nashville.  It was the most vulnerable and honest I had ever been in a writing session. Re-releasing it has been exciting to look back on and see it take on a new life.

What drew you to decide to do a cover of Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe” for the holidays?

“Mistletoe” really matches my style and I thought it would be the perfect song to add my country-pop twist! I’m excited for everyone to hear it.

Who are your main musical influences?

Martina McBride, Pat Benatar, Aretha Franklin, Faith Hill, Kelly Clarkson, The Eagles, and so many!!!!

Throughout your music career have you learned any tips for dealing with writer’s block?

Nashville songwriting is incredible because if I have a day where I’m not feeling inspired, someone else in the room might be. I love going down the rabbit hole and helping someone else write about their inspiration.

If we were to look at the artists you are listening to, who would be on your playlist?
You’d find a blend of all genres and all artists… I just love music and have a song for different feelings!

What are your plans for any future releases?
I have a collab releasing at the beginning of 2023. Stay tuned!
