Conceived by Bruno & Eudora, The Dye crafts compelling sonic tapestries illumined by commanding vocals and fervent guitar riffs. Keen lyricism, avant-garde atmospherics and psychedelic overtones combine to form a powerful and intoxicating brand of alternative rock.

Who inspires you to write music?

So many great artists have inspired us to write music. Among them: The Cure, David Bowie, Echo and The Bunnymen, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Grace Slick, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchel, Patti Smith, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Jefferson Airplane, Sonic Youth, Air, Miles Davis, Dead Can Dance, Interpol, The Rapture, The Talking Heads, Blur, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra and The Beatles.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Our music is a poetic exploration of song, sound, trance, lullaby, hymn, cinematic landscapes and painting of emotions. We believe in creating songs that convey emotion and storytelling with beautiful melodies accompanied by fervent guitars, driving drum beats, full bass sounds and other synth atmospheres. It would be really tricky to describe our music in terms of genre or to depict it in a fuller way as we ARE our music. We live inside of it!

What is your creative process like?

We typically write our songs with electric guitar and voices exploring melodies while writing lyrics that blend on the border of poem and narrative. Piano, synth, bass guitar and organ also take part at times on this first stage. In the second phase, we rehearse the songs with our drummer and bassist in order to find their parts and gel the song together. After that, we spend months in the recording studio carving all the layers to complete the final arrangements and sonic textures. In the end, we create a medium for the listener to travel with the power of imagination while being in the moment surrendered by the scenes we craft with our art.

Who would you like to collaborate with?

Our dream would be to collaborate with Jonny Greenwood, Radiohead’s lead guitarist, multi instrumentalist and arranger. His musicality is in many ways the most extraordinary and interesting in music today. It would be a dream for us to collaborate with him. He could add sonic elements and arrangements to our songs that would take our music to the next level!

If you could open a show for any artist, who would it be?

The Cure. Their music has influenced ours on so many levels and we know we would be a terrific opening act for them. It’s a dream we will accomplish one day!

If you could be a superhero what would your power be and what would be your name?

Bruno: My power would be to play any instrument in the world at a prodigious level and to write the most amazing music yet created.

I would be called Super Song!

Eudora: My power would be to transform others’ negative emotions into beautiful music so that they instantly forget their troubles and feel happy.

My name would be Sound shifter!

    What’s your favorite board game?

    Scrabble!

What would you bring on an idyllic picnic?

Fruit, a large bottle of sparkling water, lobster rolls, sushi rolls and champagne!

    What’s your favorite children’s story?

Bruno: Tie between Peter Pan and Pinocchio!

Eudora: Tie between Alice in Wonderland and Sleeping Beauty!

If you were talking to a younger you what advice would you give yourself?

Bruno: Learn to play guitar, piano and sing ASAP and have a lot of kindness, patience, passion and perseverance in your heart!

Eudora: Learn to play synthesizers as soon as possible and follow your dreams without any restraints!
