The ballad “Other Side” serves as both a battle cry and a hopeful sign. Written from a place of deep personal renewal, the song tells the story of escaping the control of a narcissist and finding the strength to embrace love and happiness again.

The track, co-written by Jacquie Roar, Jesse Slack, Jordan Gray, Steve Fee, and Jason Mater, delivers a raw and empowering message for anyone who has endured the pain of abuse. With poignant lyrics like “I crawled my way out a prison cell / The home I made became my hell,” “Other Side” serves as both a battle cry and a shining example of optimism.

“About eight or nine years ago, I was with someone who almost ruined my life,” Jacquie shares. “It was a long path of recovery, and now I want to tell my story to help others. This song is for anyone who has been or is currently in a toxic relationship or under a narcissist’s control. Here’s your sign to leave. Male or female, you are worthy of love, and you are worthy of happiness. I found mine on the ‘Other Side.’”

According to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, intimate partner violence affects well over 12 million people every year. “I want this song to save lives and change the world,” Jacquie emphasizes.

With stirring vocals and soul-baring emotion, “Other Side” finds Jacquie channeling the depth of Adele while carrying the grit and honesty fans of Jelly Roll, Ella Langley, and Avery Anna will instantly connect with. Jacquie’s journey proves that survival is only the beginning, that thriving is possible, and that “Other Side” is her anthem for anyone ready to claim it.

Jacquie Roar is a powerhouse in country music, known for her dynamic vocals and electrifying stage presence. She has shared the stage with icons such as Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Kelsea Ballerini, Gary Allan, Cody Johnson, Riley Green, Jackson Dean, and even hip-hop legend Nelly, demonstrating her formidable presence. Her journey to national fame began on The Voice Season 24, where she wowed audiences with her rendition of “Here for the Party” by Gretchen Wilson, earning a coveted Four-Chair Turn. In 2024, Jacquie made her highly anticipated Music City debut, performing at CMA Fest, the Grand Ole Opry Plaza, and Nashville’s legendary Whiskey Jam, delivering a standout performance alongside Jamie O’Neal. Most recently, Jacquie made history performing alongside Jelly Roll at the Oregon State Penitentiary—the first live music event in the prison yard in over two decades.
