Emerging post-punk artist Nick Moon has released his newest single, “Setting Sun,” a genre-nonconforming musing of taking down elites on “their day of reckoning.”
The track is electric, excelling in both witty satire and all-consuming groovy instrumentals. Described by Moon as “surf rock,” the track’s guitar solos rise above the rest, setting the last third of “Setting Sun” ablaze in a manner sure to get a crowd head-banging. The track is confident and bold, imbued with audacity and recklessness that inspires you to drop everything and just dance. The new single is the first off of Moon’s upcoming album, Who Is The Bone Man, and shines a light on his motive as an artist: taking advantage of the surreal and absurdity to craft cunning, razor-sharp commentary on Gen-Z and American culture.

Los Angeles native Nick Moon is bursting into the music scene the only way he knows how—unapologetically and unyieldingly. Moon has always been called to music, having crafted a makeshift drum kit with paper plates and couch cushions ten years ago until his parents got him a real one. He is thoroughly involved in the LA backyard music and punk scenes and can be found coordinating festivals when he is not running around on stage. Inspired by songwriters like Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, and Tom Waits, Moon carves his place in the industry by making music that is equal parts comedic and compelling, dynamic and eccentric. “Setting Sun” was written and performed by Moon and produced by Anthony Rosales and Henry McKenzie.
