Saudi music producer and DJ Omar Basaad shares his brand new chart topping album ‘MINDCATION’, out now on all streaming platforms. He also shares the music video for dark R&B/Pop single ‘Crown’ featuring American vocalist Rey Khan.
Known for his versatile music production skills, Omar transcends genres on his new album ‘MINDCATION’. On the first day of release, the album reached Top 5 in the Itunes Dance Album charts, making history in becoming the first Saudi dance music artist to secure a Top 10 spot in the charts.
Nominated for Best Middle East Act at the MTV EMA’s in 2014, Omar made history when he became the first Saudi to play at the iconic Belgian electronic dance music Festival, Tomorrowland.
The album was recorded virtually with a multitude of artists from all over the world, from different backgrounds and with different musical styles. ‘Nehayetna Eh’ features singer HANA and combines lyrics sung in Arabic layered over electronic beats, while ‘In Miami’ is an electro-pop banger featuring Multi Grammy nominated and award winning Songwriter, vocal producer and artist Jimmy Burney. ‘Busy Body’ with vocals from Emmy Jhay features afro-beats and a heavy sax instrumental, and tracks like ‘Treat’ and ‘Not Right’ are reminiscent of The Weeknd’s trademark dark R&B.
Speaking of the album, Omar says: “I truly feel that music is a universal language, and I want to use it to being people together in a time when we need it the most. My new album is a coexistence of different cultures and I’m very excited for it to be out in the world.”

He bought a beat-drum machines and learned how to program, and landed his first remix deal – and the rest is history.
