Pardyalone Releases Music Video for His Heartbreak Single ‘Cupid’

The 22-year-old rapper out of Minnesota recently released ‘Cupid’, which surrounded his internal struggles with relationships. The song features his honest perspective on the sudden, intense pain of reminiscing a past love. The accompanying music video follows that same narrative, as Pardyalone is literally struck through the heart with Cupid’s arrow. The dark setting and high-contrast lighting put you within the mind of Pardyalone, and his anxiety and stress are felt through both his vocals and anger on-screen.

“Love is honestly hard. Sometimes it doesn’t work, and you’re left with nothing.”

The video was directed by Damian Hutinec, with the song itself produced by Ezy. Pardyalone’s music video falls perfectly in line with the exaggerated rapper lifestyle, while still holding a focus on the trials and tribulations of love. Influences from artists such as Juice WRLD and Lil Skies are found in the song, with a common theme of the hardships of love. Pardyalone is vulnerable within his lyrics, without coming off as sappy or clichéd. Tormented by the female in the video, the young rapper has to overcome his emotions, saying he “Can’t fall in love with you, it’s just a dream.” Each scene in Pardyalone’s music video for ‘Cupid’ serves to explore the darker side of failed relationships.
