Discover how The Singer’s Company empowers artists with tailored guidance, tech support, and career breakthroughs in a dynamic music landscape.
How does The Singer’s Company adapt its services to meet the evolving needs of artists in a rapidly changing music landscape?
When we first meet with a singer, our objective is to get to know the person first. This allows us to tailor our plans to any current or future issues. Some of the singers we work with are not that technology savvy, so we try our best to use practical tech to get the work done well. This is very important when we are working with artists virtually at long distances.
What is it like to guide artists in their careers, and what are some of the most rewarding aspects of helping them navigate their journey in the music industry?
There is a true feeling of joy and excitement when we have breakthroughs with our artists. This emotion is most prevalent with vocals, songwriting, fan building, and the completion and release of a song! I try my best to meet with each artist a few times per month so we can make sure we are staying on track with the goals set out in our artist development plans.
What criteria do you look for when considering artists who want to work with The Singer’s Company, and what qualities make an artist stand out to you?
The first things we are looking for in a singer are a sense of humility, coachability, and a drive to succeed. We also love to see that there is family support. A good momager or popager is key! We guide parents and partners of artists on the best practices and business of managing their artists effectively.
Can you share the story of how The Singer’s Company was founded and what inspired its creation in the music industry?
I was sitting at my desk in my private studio. That studio became The Singer’s Company 1. I had a songwriting workshop going on with a wonderful singer from the UK. She had come all the way over to Toronto because, at the time, she was a singer that hadn’t released any of her own music and wanted to find the best way to do so. As she was spending time each day with me and different songwriters, musicians, and producers, it dawned on me that this is what I’m one of the best in the world at doing. I help singers find their sound and their voice! And then the name, The Singer’s Company, came to me! From there, I already had my excellent friend and mentor, Wayne Williams, and Jeff Watson working with me, so I told them about it, and we began formalizing the company and bringing people onboard.
What is the process for artists to submit their music to The Singer’s Company, and are there any specific guidelines they should follow to ensure their submission stands out?
We recommend that a singer/artist visit our website contact page at www.thesingerscompany.com and that form has some basic questions and even a section for a singer to add a link to a social media account so we can hear them sing. There is also a section for the singer to share some of their story and/or challenges. That is the best first step to working with us!
