New York, March 11th, 2022 — Brooklyn-based engineer/producer Icarus Moth has teamed up with Toronto-based SABRE for the genre-defying “Quicksand”, a soulful, synth-filled track that is brimming with adventure, and combines musical elements that range from RnB to future bass.

“Quicksand” is the promising follow-up release for Icarus Moth, who recently made his Monstercat debut with the track “Slow Truth”, which featured collaborations from notable vocalist  Ehiorobo and multi-platinum producer DEFFIE. “Quicksand” continues to capitalize on the RnB notes of “Slow Truth”, whilst paying homage to the producer’s long history in future bass, glitch hop, and trap. SABRE’s vocals soar over Icarus Moth’s bright synths and keyboards, her soulful tone and rich harmonies entwined with detuned saw waves and electronic drum beats that offer a track that is both relaxed and triumphant.

The song was produced in one session by Icarus Moth and frequent collaborator Blake Hotwagner (Radio Radio). They describe the experience as “a natural collaborative effort. We didn’t have any plans going into this. Our inspirations aligned in a manner that we were able to knock out the whole song just in a session.”

Icarus Moth offers up a great deal of praise for SABRE, saying she was “super quick and never out of ideas.  She was able to write 99% of the topline before we even finished composing, and record in one take.”

SABRE herself hopes that in the wake of the song, people will feel a “great sense of adventure and escape”. It’s the first release for SABRE since becoming a mother. “Triniti is now my NINE-month-old daughter. In part, this song is about the joys of raising a child; just living for the simplest things.”

A hypnotic sound that pulls listeners in and roots them to the spot in awe, “Quicksand” stands to be a smash hit from these up-and-coming artists.
