Country singer‑songwriter Katie Fee is inviting listeners to trade deadlines for sunshine with her carefree new single, “Nothing Right.” Filled with laid‑back charm and breezy summertime nostalgia, the feel‑good track celebrates the simple joy of unplugging, unwinding, and doing absolutely nothing… the right way.

Opening with the easy invitation, “I’ve got a few days off of work, I think you do too,” the song drifts instantly into an oceanfront escape where time slows down and the only agenda is sunshine. Fee paints a vivid picture of relaxing by the water with a cold drink in hand, sand between your toes, and nowhere else to be. Anchored by the memorable lyric, “I just wanna lay on back in a blue beach chair,” the track becomes a gentle reminder that sometimes the best way to spend a day is to simply let it unfold.

“Nothing Right is a reminder that we all deserve to slow down every once in a while,” says Fee. “Life moves so fast, and sometimes the best thing we can do is take a break, enjoy the people we’re with, and appreciate the little moments. I hope this song makes people want to pack up the car and disconnect for a while.”

With “Nothing Right,” Katie continues to showcase the heartfelt storytelling and relatable songwriting that define her sound—delivering the perfect soundtrack for beach days, summer road trips, and anyone ready to leave life’s worries behind.

    About Katie Fee

Katie Fee’s musical journey began in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she grew up surrounded by the voices of ’90s country icons like Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and Deana Carter. Those early influences sparked a passion that eventually led her to Nashville in 2017, where she enrolled at Belmont University and immersed herself in the heart of Music City’s songwriting community.

Blending country, pop, Americana, and the storytelling traditions she grew up on, Katie crafts songs that feel lived‑in and deeply relatable—whether she’s writing about love, heartbreak, or life’s simple pleasures. Her lyrics carry listeners through moments that linger long after the music fades.

In July 2021, she released her debut EP Sunsets and Fireworks, followed by her full‑length album Runaway Heart in October 2023. The album earned glowing reviews and a nomination for Country Female Album of the Year at the 10th Annual Josie Music Awards.

Katie’s love for travel has taken her across the country—from South Carolina to Minnesota and all the way to the Wild West Songwriters’ Festival in Deadwood, South Dakota—connecting with fans and fellow musicians along the way. Her music continues to build a community rooted in authenticity, heart, and the timeless spirit of country storytelling.

Most recently, Katie released her EP Whiskey & Sunsets in February 2026, bringing together her 2025 releases along with a brand‑new track that hints at where her sound is headed next.
